OTC Training Courses

In 2016, Offshore Technology Conference will debut several training courses, each hosted by one of our sponsoring societies. Check out the full schedule and more details below.

All courses will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, Texas, USA. The courses are the days before OTC 2016, which runs 2–5 May.

Deep Foundations: Foundations: Design, Construction, and Quality Control

Dates: 30 April–1 May
Time:  0830–1730

This course presents modern techniques and design procedures for the design, installation, and verification of Deep Foundations.  New design and specifications have been adopted in many codes and specifications.  Each attendee will receive the FHWA comprehensive manuals: Design and Construction of Drive Pile Foundations, Drilled Shaft: Construction Procedure and Design Methods, and Design and Construction of Continuous Flight Auger Piles. More info.

Subsea Production and Technologies

Dates: 30 April–1 May
Time: 0800– 1700

This class will provide participants with an introduction to subsea production facilities. It will take participants from the conceptual design to the operation of the subsea production facilities. Participants will have the chance to learn about typical system architecture, design drivers, and general requirements for subsea production systems. Equipment design and operations, flow lines, flow assurance, and material selection will all be covered. More into.

Deep-water Drilling and Production Technology

Date: 1 May
Time:  0800–1700

This course will give you a better understanding of the challenges faced in deep-water oil and gas operations, and what technology has been developed to overcome them. Rapid comprehension of new concepts is through visual illustration using animations, photos, and videos of actual operations. More info.

Petroleum Geology for Engineers

Date: 1 May
Time: 0800–1700

This course is an introduction of petroleum geology and how a petroleum geologist uses the science to explore for oil and gas.  This course is intended for engineers who need a better understanding of the geology and geological concepts used in exploration and production decision. More info.
